What to Expect
What is the worship service like?
We have a family-oriented worship service with people of all ages present. At the heart of our service is the preaching and teaching of the Bible, usually working our way through books of the Bible. In fact, the Bible is at the heart of all we do that our worship might please and glorify God.
The WORD is read
The WORD is sung
The WORD is prayed
The WORD is supported through giving
The WORD is heard in expository preaching
The WORD is seen in baptism and the Lord’s Supper
In order that the WORD might be obeyed
After the morning service, people enjoy sharing informal fellowship and conversation with one another over a cup of coffee or tea.
The Lord's Supper
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper at the end of morning service on the first Sunday of every month. As a visitor you are welcome to let the bread and cup pass you by, or you can partake with us providing that you are presently trusting in Christ for your salvation, and are in good standing in your local church.
We have lunch together on the last Sunday of every month following the morning service. All are welcome to stay and eat; you are welcome to bring a plate to share, however there is usually more than enough food for everyone.
It is clear that giving was part of the worship of the New Testament church (2 Corinthians 8, 9; 1 Timothy 5:17-18; 1 Corinthians 16:1-3). At GBC we don’t take up an offering during the service, but gifts can be made via our offering box or by internet banking. Funds given are used for the support of pastoral ministry, and for missions work in NZ and overseas. Please contact us for further details.
Plenty of parking is available within the Rosebank grounds . As you come through the main entrance you enter a long car park with parking spaces on either side. Please contact us if you need assistance with transport.
